The Mnemic CD is very good! The new singer Guillaume Bideau is more powerful than the previous one.

I wasn't too keen on the old guy when I saw them open for Soilwork at the House of Blues in Anahiem... I haven't listened to any of these discs yet.
I can't wait to dig in!

I wasn't moved by the Mnemic album...
This Ending is very vanilla if there is such a thing as vanilla death metal...
Therion was pretty damn good...

Can you expand on the Therion album?
I saw one review that said it was "poppy" and a bit of a let-down from Lemuria/SiriusB... but that's just one guy's opinion of course. Definately near the top of my list of cds to buy in '07.

 

[Trans-Siberian Outcast]

I've only heard a few songs from the new Therion and it definitely sounds different from Therion past. Of the songs I've heard, the female opera vocals are replaced with a more traditional gothic approach. The music seems more mainstream power metalish, although there are some sections where the music is pure Therion. It sounds great to my ears and I'm going to buy this immediately upon release.

It's more melodic. It's got a gothic rock vibe to it... I wouldn't call it pop, but like you said there might be some out there that could see it that way...
