Therion's Next Album

There's maybe 2 albums I see possibly topping this in 2007. Which isn't much considering we've got 10 more months left and I don't think either album has been officially announced for 2007, even.

I'm hoping the world tour includes the US. They could scale back the number of shows compared to last time. I'm sure they'll play Mexico, so it's not like it has to be out of the way.

Well albums that will be up there for me includes, Iced Earth, Symphony X, Elvenking, Dream Theater, Redemption, Threshold, Second Sky (if released this year), Testament, and then a number of bands that I can't remember if they have albums coming out this year or not. But this album has set a high standard.

I guess it's sort of three. Nightwish, Kamelot, & Haggard. Without knowledge of the singer, I'm not really anticipating the new Nightwish album just yet. I'm fairly certain the new Kamelot album should be out this year. Not really sure about Haggard as I only just learned they were working on a new album.

It is a most excellent album - in terms of production, musicianship, choice of vocalists and songwriting. I found older Therion material to be quite repetitive, particularly on Vovin and Deggial, but I love the new material. Therion for PP! Glenn, you have the support of English teachers nationwide, I asked.

I'll echo the sentiments of most of you -- Gothic Kabbalah is amazing from beginning to end! The new discs are a regular fixture in my car's CD player and I cannot imagine that changing any time soon.

On a humorous note I get lots of interesting looks when I'm stopped at a red light with the windows down and something such as "Wand of Abaris" blaring out of the speakers! Oh, those poor folks who just don't get it!

Adulruna Rediviva = Best.Therion.Song.Ever.Period. :notworthy

this is my favorite song on disc 2 of Gothic Kabbalah and quite possibly knocks Siren of the Woods and Via Nocturna from my Therion favorites of all time. But it's still early, and fresh in my mind, so perhaps I am jumping to conclusions. My feeble Therion-worshiping mind can only handle so much greatness at once. :zombie: But yeah, it's my fave from disc 2, followed closely by TOF the Trinity and Wand of Abaris.

Disc one: my favorite song is Tuna 1316, followed a hair's breadth by Wisdom and the Cage, then Perennial Sophia and Sons of the Staves of Time, then everything else.

I've said elsewhere and I'll repeat myself here again - Therion shines above all else as the epitome of what 'progressive' metal music is all about. They have truly evolved - not changed overnight, but evolved - amazingly from a garage/bar death metal band into such a fantastic epic, bombastic, etherial, eclectic mix of words and music that leaves listeners either floored or else scratching their collective heads.

looking around, apparently most everyone here is floored! and I couldn't be happier.

Over 50 listens in, I still say this is album of the year 2007. I can't imagine anything knocking them off the top spot, and I'm well aware that we just entered month 3 of 12.

Therion really knocked this one out of the ballpark... and probably smashed about 14 rows of cars in the parking lot when it landed.

I would pay the 100 or so dollars next year to see Therion headline alone.

Mmmmmm. I'd pay...substantially more than that. :kickass:

Realistically there are several reasons why it isn't likely. Glenn couldn't afford to bring them over for a one-shot, and their last US tour, thanks to an overzealous (or totally incompetent) booking agent, wasn't financially successful (although the larger cities sold just fine).
Maybe a PP date plus a limited (please, god, make it more limited) US tour? That'd be awesome!
