They Want Kiss!

I like some KISS on occasion I'm burned out on them like I'm burned out on Zeppelin or the Doors! For the KISS FANS! VVVVVVV

Ah.... Shut up Sixxi! KISS Rules! :headbang:

A museum spokesman said it was the first demonstration by fans seeking to have a group inducted.

Reminds me of when KISS fans surrounded a radio station and demanded KISS be played on the radio!

Eh, i think Alice Cooper deserves to be in there more than Kiss does, and HE'S not in there! If it weren't for the Coop, Kiss wouldn't have a trail to tread on. Alice CREATED the flashy theatricality (or "shock rock") that Kiss, King Diamond, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and WASP followed in. Even David fucking Bowie was inspired by Alice, that's how we got Ziggy Stardust/Alladin Sane, etc. Alice did it first and i think, best. I like Kiss and all, alot, but i just think Alice is more important of an artist and just my opinion, has been much more consistant in his career than Kiss ever was. He should get in first, me thinks.

The fact that Black Sabbath has only recently been included shows two things:
1) The Rock and Roll Hall of fame is totally clueless.
2) KISS fans have a few more years to wait.

Don't know what the shite is about (not a Kiss fan obviously) but I definitively agree about the Coop. Alice IS DA MAN!:headbang:

Overall, i agree. Everything Kiss did, Alice did better. The short, loud, punchy, raw, hard, garage rock-ish stuff, the epic theatrical songs, experimental songs, commercial poppy songs, he even did hair metal better than they did. And another thing....at least Alice still has his integrity. Something Kiss lost years ago.

Kiss always seemed to product(toys, lunchboxes,comics,kondoms...) oriented to me to be taken seriously. Even back in the day.

I agree 100%. Coop really invented shock rock. He invented theatrical rock. He was/is a genius

I am also glad you mentioned Bowie. The man was always one step ahead of pop music culture and as soon as music caught up with him, he reinvented himself. He was always a little strange for my tastes, but he had vision.

No more needs be said. You hit the nail squarely on the head.

so what signifigance did Tom Petty and Blondie bring that got them in????

You got me. I'd say Petty brought a folksy feel back into things but he really didn't do a whole helluva lot to develop anything new. Perpetuated? Yeah, I guess. I don't particularly care for him so it's even harder for me to come up with anything. :loco: Blondie? Not a freakin' clue. Did they kinda, sorta mix a new wave thingy into it a bit? Yeah, I know I shouldn't be all technical and stuff. :p
