Thinking of picking up some NS10's- Quick Question

I wanna buy some NS10s that are being sold locally but i need to know if i need an amp to push them. I have MR5s right now which im selling to my bassist and have never really dabbled to far in the world of monitors. I have an old Mackie power amp (this one http://www.mackie.com/products/m1400/ ) but im not sure if it will still work. It used to power the sound system at the skatepark i work at (overheats but its filled with so much dust!). If i can get it running could i use it to power the NS10's? Sorry if i sound like an idiot, i have no experience in monitors other than my MR5's

Tons of threads on this already, some pretty recently. A quick searcj will lead you to them.
That mackie is for pa use, yes it will work but won't be doing your monitors any justice to power them with it.

Yes you need a amp. I have a Adcom Gfa 545 power amp and it does well. I also did a fuse mod to keep my speakers safe.
