Okay, so full disclosure about these "kids shredding" videos on Youtube. They're dime a dozen and I can't stand them. 3 reasons:
1. The kid in question, may be able to hit the notes, but almost always lacks the feel of the person he or she is covering.
2. Kids don't know what they want, and are super fickle. They grow out of things easily, so it's not like he or she is actually going to do anything with those skills in the long run. So, it's ultimately unimpressive to me
3. Shred in general is by and large lame IMO.
But this kid, holy shit!!! I'm a big Guthrie Govan fan, but I hate his snobby fans that can never capture the soul and feeling of his playing when they take their acne covered and cheeto dust soaked fingers to Youtube and try to cover one of his songs. This 12 year old kid, effectively mopped the floor with all of them! Totally captures the vibe of the song and nails it note for note. In fact, if it wasn't for the feedback and other sounds indicating this is in fact done live, you could swear this is fake!
