this cd got no recognition for how good the mix is The agony scene

+1, Ryan mentioned it to me on FB and I took a listen expected to be blown away, and really it's not a BAD mix, but dude. It's thin and harsh.

WHERE DA FUCK IS DA BEEF???????????

Yeah, I'd say it is just a bad mix. No low end balls and nails on a chalkboard high end = pretty bad sounding.

Wow.

The vocals are really annoying and bright (massive overdrive works if you lowpass it after, ie. Lamb of God's Wrath), but other than that this is pretty fucking amazing.

Tried listening to it again, and still not hearing the "Amazing".
Seriously guys, where are you hearing the amazing in this?
I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just genuinely curious as to what is good sounding about a mix with absolutely no balls and a high end that is as painful as listening to a baby screaming.

It's not wonderfully balanced, but everything sounds sick and blends together really well. Like at 2:10, everything works - dynamics on the kick, roomy drums, messy everything but still super tight. It could do with a remastering perhaps, but.. it's something unique. Which is rare.

I agree with the production lacking lowend and be kind of abrasive in the high end, but the songs on this cd are great...

It was really hard for me to listen to a lot of stuff for a while without over analyzing it but its gotten a lot easier for me, as a mixer, to listen past the production... I love this whole cd.
