They're UV, so no they don't run out. But you need a blacklight.

I tried the Black Beauties years ago when they came out. Broke two E-strings in a row when tuning them up... I hope these are actually extra life and the black coating wore off really quickly too.

I'd still like to try the pink ones...

If you are a very visual live band in general with video screens, pyros and stuff, like U2 or Rammstein or Muse, it will most likely look cool. Otherwise it will just look gay.
