I was recommended this site by a friend to get to know and understand "the metal world". I just joined a touring band and being a former jazz and blues bassist I know nothing. I play what they give me, but I need to start writing soon, so any recommendations on what I should listen to in order to gain knowledge of styles when it comes to death and deathcore would help. I know this is probably going to bring on mass amounts of mockery, but I'm trying to learn. :/
