This is revolutionary: new Edrums

pretty cheap compared to a roland v-drum: 1999 euros:
pads:
- kick, snare, toms x 3
- hihat, crash, ride
pedal :
- hihat pedal

module

hardware

good thing: it's orange!
hahahah

2000 euro eh? hmm.. that's really not too bad, i would like to see reviews first though, but love the whole orange thing they got going on with it.

I got my Roland TD-3 new for just under €1,000...I'd never use the on-board module sounds of any module, MIDI to the computer and trigger a VSTi!

Actually you can load your own multi-layered samples into the module via USB. THAT's what makes it interesting.
Oh, and I saw an interview with the engineer who said that they have a deal with BFD and Toontrack for samples. Check it out.

If they sell the module by itself, for a good price - then yes, I will be buying one for triggering my own kick samples live. However, I've no intention to replace my TD-3 e-kit for 'at home' playing anytime soon.

Oh, prices vary between 1550 GBG pounds (=1740 euros, on ebay) and 1999 euros in shops (Musical Box in Verona, Italy)... Obviously that's for europe, no idea about how much it will cost in the US.

Here is a e-mail response i got from them regarding just the Module

"Thanks for the interest. We will ship to US when we are ready and we will be in May for US market. The price is TBA but we aim at a MAP price for brain only below 1000 USD."

wow, that sounds cheap?

Yeah now all i have to do is convince my silly ass drummer to sell one of his 3 drum kits, and pick this beast up. I can just imagine the live show drum sound now, Devildriver kick drum, Steven Slate snare, Andy's Chimaira Toms.....sorry im now jacking.........
