Yes = i like it
No = i don't like it

Sucks and Rules is too specific, and also leaves no middle ground. a Yes band can be anywhere from casual enjoyment to all out masterpiece, where as a No band ranges from slight discomfort to uncontrollable instant bowel movement.

oh yes definitely, that's why i added the "uncontrollable" bit.

although those are funny in hindsight. like the time i got ISS (Instant Shit Syndrome) in the middle of LA on the way to an Opeth show and had to shit in a K-mart where no english was spoken over the intercom, and a little kid kept knocking on the door "are you done yet?" as i'm shitting my brains out. when his brother said "just go in the corner" i decided i was finished, inhaled a bunch of anti-shit pills, and went to the show.

Does "Yes" also mean, "I will buy it immediately"? That rating system is going to be damn expensive.

If I score it numerically, I'll only consider buying anything with an 8/10 or higher. But if I took on your "Yes" rating system, I'd probably have to give a "Yes" to anything with a 6.5/10 and then I'll end up with a bunch of albums with only 3 or 4 good songs on each.

Those days are long gone. :cool:

why on earth would i want to buy every album i enjoy? yes, i have achieved a money-saving nirvana. :Spin:

i decided that a few weeks ago. there are a TON of albums that i really like and don't own (or have illegal copies of), but it's okay!

friends. now, if i loooooooove an album, i'm gonna own it to listen to whenever i want. but for albums that i say "yeah, this is some good shit" but don't completely salivate over, i won't mind if i don't own it.

YUO FAIL IT. :loco:

i actually stop myself from listening to mp3s and cd-rs if i love an album, which means if i hear it more than 3 times, it's love. i force myself to wait to own a copy. i'm just that supportive. :cool:

Right, but look at it from this point of view, if you ONLY owned/bought albums that you might have previously scored 9/10 or higher, just imagine how cool your collection would be!! :kickass:

No more fat, just lean muscle! :loco:

as long as we have a system so as not to flood the Latest Purchases thread like a lot of these crazy kids around here, then :kickass: !

"Vent radioactive gas?" [types] Y E S.
"Sound alertness horn?" Y E S. [it sounds in the distance]
"Decalcify calcium ducts?" Well, give me a Y, give me a...Hey!
All I have to type is Y. [to Marge] Hey, Miss Doesn't-find-me-attractive-sexually-anymore: I just tripled my productivity!

I don't see any major difference between sucks and rules here, and it really needs a distinction between albums you enjoy on the simplest of levels and ones that are essential to your perception of music (not saying there's no overlap between the two, but there has to be something that separates the buy or dies from the like it but rarely get the urge to listen albums)
