Sounds like some chopped up synths to me.

yeah first one sounds like chopped up synths

second vid is probably noise + automated volume, lowpass and panning
you can use a volume automation curve like this: -_-_-_--__-_--__--__ etc. with basically just 0 and max volume alternating which is the chopping, and smoother curves for the filter cutoff automation to "open" and "close"
i hope that makes sense

alternatively, dblue glitch vst is also good for chopping

it's a synth using a trance gate... vanguard or nexus can do this
