Thrash, most of us old enough to remember Metallicas first Australian tour Damaged Justice in 89 were once big fans. It seems to be the in thing again these days, most every old band has reformed but none have been able to top anything they've done previously.
Personally I havent really heard much "New thrash" that I like, though honestly I'm not looking. I acquired Bewitched from Gorey which i think is pretty fantastic but little else that has crossed my path has impressed me. Is there anything that us oldies are missing or are we bettered served sticking to our collections, which is the stance Im likely to continue because money doesnt grow on trees and listening time is short in a family environment.
On the subject of new thrash, it seems that what Dream Theatre are focusing on now too. I just spun the Constant Movement single that I found in my post box and with its groove thrash riffs and the vocalist trying to sound like Chuck Billy I was a little surprised, this is not the DT I am familiar with!
