Who cares what type of metal or rock it is? The new Threshold album (Dead Reckoning) is too good for words to explain. If you haven't got it yet then GO GET IT!!!
But my favorite prog bands lately are Seventh Wonder (sort of AOR meets prog metal) and Tomorrow's Eve.
I remember seeing a few people here mentioning SW a few times before. Definitely worth checking out. Waiting In The Wings is one of my favorite albums from last year.
Tomorrow's Eve's vocalist sort of has a Warrel Dane thing going on with his voice at times. Very moody and atmospheric, but still really heavy. Musicianship is excellent, but they don't wank or anything. Mirror Of Creation: Genesis II has a lot of feeling and soul. Very epic too.
I wish I could find the lyrics though. I only know the basic concept of the album, but it's supposed to be really interesting. I think there was supposed to be some experimentation on the protagonist or something like that. The song title for Market Of Umbra makes me think of some black market kind of thing.
Yeah, I know this band. I have been really into them for a long time now. I love this new album. It is definately worth giving a go, even if you're not usually into this sort of music.
