Throw down HC mix

Thanks for the input guys. This song is finished, and in the hands of the band, but I will keep these in mind for the next project. It is becoming more and more clear to me that guitars are the weakest part of my recordings. I just need to figure out if it's a tone dialing issue, or a mixing/post eq issue. Maybe I am dialing in "good tone" for a guitar on it's own and not for a mix. I'm not sure how a guitar tone should sound on its own for a mix though to be 100% honest... I guess that's the noob in me surfacing yet again.

if anyone cares to listen, here is a more recent song with what I find to be slightly improved guitar tone:

...maybe it's time to suck it up and order an axe fx and ditch pod farm...

how did you record your guitars? they sound soo bad.

if you are using IRs...make sure there isn't any attack on the impulse and you may even just want to use another IR.
if you mic'd it... turn up the mids, turn down the treble.
