What in the fuck kind of compressors were used on the parallel drums?
Those toms are RIDICULOUS.

I guess compressors or even what kind were use for kick/snare/toms in general.
I'm in the market for some and love the way these drums sound.

Will does a lot of amp blending and then also uses a DI via a Palmer and phases reverses to knock out obnoxious shit. We're probably hearing some combo of Recto, Uberschall, Herbert, and/or 5150, all unboosted, via Mesa/Diezel cabs with a 421 and 57 on each.


Knowing Will a lot of the shell compression is either 1176 or Distressor, probably the latter. Printing the preamps SUPER hot is also key to this; there is audible distortion on the way in.

Never knew or thought of something like that. I'll have to try that out- that's really cool. Knew he had used a boosted signal under tracks for better low-mid definition... You mind sharing where that information comes from?

Not sure about the boosted signal you're talking about, info comes from talking to Andy as well as Will (hung out for a few days while they tracked the new Winds of Plague album).

There were no boosts used, in fact will seemed puzzled when I suggest we use one haha. Rhythm gtrs are 5150 and überschall through Mesa os and Diezel fl cabs with a 57 and 421 on each going into tg2s.
