Please indulge me for this, but I do try and keep hold of all the ticket stubs I can, obviously one or more get injured / damaged or lost in action so to speak. And recently I've framed up a few with programmes and other memorabilia. (At the mo. I've got one for Saxon, Maiden and two frames with various tickets in.)

Well whilst glancing at them the other day I thought I would compare ticket prices for some bands accross the spectrum in 85,86 and 88. Its interesting that you can see just by pricing when Maiden stepped up to the next level !

I also saw Queen on the "Its a Kind of Magic" tour at Maine Road, Manchester 86'ish for £13 !

Obviously this is in no way a comprehensive list, these figures are just from the tickets I had displayed. but I thought a few of you may find it interesting.

Going by those prices, Saxon's ticket prices have only gone up about £8-£10 in about twenty years! Now theres value for money!

Exactly mate !

Mind you if they read this they may review the pricing.................

I'll get me coat !

Best gig for me EVER was Saxon at JB's , Dudley last year, I think it was £15 for the ticket plus got to meet the guys and Paul Quinn did'nt want to give me my jacket back

Saxon rule for value for money and everything else!! :headbang:

Ozzy it 85 how good was that?Mind you got Ratt and us poor folk in Leicester got fucking Chrome Molly:mad:

It was great mate "The Ultimate Sin" tour, not quite as flash a show as the States got but hey ! As I say Ratt supported in Manchester, unusually had their logo printed on the ticket as well.

Chrome Molly were'nt they from Leicester way?

I saw Deep Purple with Bad Co as support at Birmingham NEC in 1987 for the princely sum of £6.50 (about the same for Maiden at the Odeon Hallowe'en 86).

A couple of years earlier Uriah Heep on the Equator tour were £3.50and a few years before that, Priest for £1.75

Testament next week - £14 at JB's
