For using a metronome (fairly new to this).

Quarter note = One note per click
Eigth Note = Two notes per click
Triplets = Three notes per click
Sixteenths = Four notes per click

It just continue on from there?

It's all dependent upon where you have the stressed beat set at. Basically dependent upon what time signature you have it in. From what I can gather, yes you're right.
As long as you're in 4/4 time (4 beats per measure).

Thanks a lot.

Came in from outside (damn it's cold) and couldn't play sixteenth notes accurately. I was sad :(.

Anyway, any mods watching you can close this thread now.

Thanks again, Kellan.

A good song to practice sixteenth notes on is Whiplash by Metallica. That's how I learned fast tremolo picking...trust me, it works.

Most of my eigth through sixteenth note practice is on Death, but I'll try out Whiplash.

Thanks, Dead Winter.

I'm sure Death is better, but if you're just starting out with tremolo picking and want to gain speed and accuracy, Whiplash is great. Not really for the left hand, as it's basic power chords, but it's a good focus for the right hand.
