Tips to prepare me

I'm maybe joining a dm band, but I have this "slight" problem.
They have years of experience, I have under three.
What do I have to do to prepare my self and such alike?

Don't suck and be able to learn new riffs quickly.

Do everything that's necessary to learn those riffs quickly. Play them over and over and over and over again. The sooner you fit in, the sooner they'll let you do you own things.
