the video you posted for Timeless Winter was awesome. the way you taught it is the way i pretty much learn guitar. i don't worry about notes, or theory or any of that stuff. if you have time, more videos would be awesome. you were very clear, and taught it very well, in my opinion. i just wanted to let you know the video was appreciated, and more would be awesome. being able to learn the songs directly from one of your idols is an awesome thing.

i found it odd that he compares himself to yngwie and how he may be a better teacher, that guy's videos suck. tim, you did a great job! I also felt they had a more intimate setting than just some guy jerking off on the guitar. you really wanted the person on the other side of the video to get something out of it. more videos we say.

:) Tim was trying to say his PLAYING is OK (modesty) but that if you really wanted to sound like a pro try to be like his heroes Yngwie n whatnot.

Cortney
p.s. there are more to come :) lots

well i mean he is EXTREMELY modest. he's tons better than him. yngwie does the same kind of stuff over and over again its boring. i hear some influence, but i'm surprised. Tim has certainly surpassed him (in both playing and teaching). and i thought he was saying to go out and get yngwie's vids instead cause he's better and you could learn more from him. certainly not true ;) in my eyes.

good to know there's more to come :)

I agree...:kickass:

He's arrogant, but he has every right to be. He pioneered shred. If not for him, we wouldn't have out Tim Roths, or Jeff Loomis, or Jason Beckers, or Marty Friedmans or even our John Petruccis for that matter. You can't deny what he's done for the guitar.

there were others around his time too. I give him credit alot of it. he's a good guitar player and became influential in the ways of neo-classical metal as he practically invented the genre. But I still don't think he beats the people that have sprung up out of his influence. Besides his stuff was just taken from classical and wasn't THAT innovative, but it always takes a first to do something no matter how small.
