Tone test: D.I.Y. X88R based preamp, AILD cover DIs (from MetalJonesy, I think...)

I've just got this DIY preamp for a test drive, from a friend of mine, who's built it for another guitarist...
It is basically an X88R based preamp, with a few differences and mods.
I've tried to do some reamping to hear how this thing could sound, using DIs from an As I Lay Dying cover I've found here, uploaded by MetalJonesy, iirc, since they where really tight and nicely played...

I like the guitar tone a hell of a lot, the bass is waaay to loud though.

ahah yeah, I know about the bass, but since it was in a single stereo track with vox and drums, I couldn't do much about it
