It ran 2 out of a planned 6 seasons and builds the plot slowly, so probably the latter.

This is my first hearing of it. Here I was waiting for it to come on again after the fucking cliff hanger from the last season.

I shall miss the wit and charm of Al Swearengen.

Edit: Showtime is even worse for getting rid of good shows! Jeremiah, 2 measly seasons! Made by the creator of Babylon 5, and it was a kick ass show. But got squashed, they had decided some one named Shannon liked it too much!

Well, at least there is still Dexter, I need to see the 2nd season though.
