Just curious, your snares here seem to be quite thin (hear me out ;p), but then the mixes I've heard them in they sound really fat. Whereas my samples sound fat by themselves and thin in a mix. Do you do a lot of processing, or let the overhead/room mics do a lot of the work?

yep, combination of all of that.
lot's of overheads (I'm usually not ducking snare on those), Roomics, different reverbs, parallel comp. lots of compression in general
