Tony Harnell is the new Skid Row singer

I'm just glad I'll probably get a chance to see Tony sing live.... one of my last bucket list people to see play live...the other, Danny Vaughn.

SKID ROW PART WAYS WITH VOCALIST TONY HARNELL

"...Vocalist Tony Harnell (ex-TNT), who joined Skid Row at the beginning of the year as a replacement for the fired Johnny Solinger, has posted the following message on his official Facebook page here. The comment had previously been removed from Harnell's page shortly after posting, but at the time of this writing it was back up.

"I'm sorry to inform everyone that I'm no longer the lead singer for Skid Row. I thank the fans for their love and support!"

The Skid Row camp has yet to comment on the situation. Watch for details to surface in the coming days...."

EDIT: Tony has just posted this update:

I was not fired from SKID ROW, I quit. Being ignored and disrespected isn't my thing. I had a great time performing with the band and singing so many great songs. I don't regret a thing! xo TH

for me Harnell's voice doesn't work in Skid Row. I wish Mark Reale was still alive, I would have loved to see Harnell do another Westworld album

TONY HARNELL ON QUITTING SKID ROW - "I OWE THE FANS AND BAND AN APOLOGY FOR THE FACEBOOK COMMENT I MADE ABOUT BEING DISRESPECTED"

"....Skid Row posted a message addressing Harnell a short time later:

“To the Skid Row faithful, As you may know, Tony Harnell quit the band yesterday. We found out about his decision the same way all of you did, via his post on social media. He had posted that he was no longer in the band before informing the band personally.
The last we spoke with Tony was on December 17th. He was in the hospital being treated for ‘bronchitis with asthmatic symptoms’. We were all very concerned and offered any assistance we could to help him get healthy. Due to his condition we were forced to cancel our show in Chicago on December 19th. The next time we heard anything was his post yesterday.
That being said, we are all moving forward and wish Tony the best in his future endeavors. Lastly, amidst all of the rumors and speculation, there has been no talk of a reunion nor are we opening for Guns N Roses. That’s it for now. We’ll keep you updated as best we can. Thanks for your support and understanding. See you in 2016!”

Harnell has since posted the following message on Facebook, putting a stop to any potential war of words:

"I owe the fans and band an apology for the Facebook comment I made last night, about being disrespected - well, I didn't exactly show an example of respect, and I truly apologize. I let my emotions get the best of me. Again, thank you all for all the good we had, let's celebrate that part of it all...."

I saw Harnell live with Skid Row, and to be honest, I think their music calls for a deeper voiced vocalist with snarl like Bach. Still, if he really did quit what must be a decent paying gig, that is a little strange.
I wonder if he might do something with Bumblefoot. Saw them do an acoustic thing together, and it was nice, but can't imagine it would pay the bills.

SB might be one of the all time biggest douche nozzles in the history of hard rock/metal, but man was he amazing on those first three albums. He had such power in his vocals that it was a huge part of their sound along with the song writing. SR should either get him back, which I doubt will happen since they have stated many times they have turned down huge sums of reunion money. Or they should just go the route of many modern bands and go get some young dude who sounds exactly like Bach. Solinger was horrible and as much as Harnell is one of my favorite vocalists of all time, it just was not a fit.
