Toontrack Metal Machine (new EZX)

Tested this out over the weekend with my friend who works at the L&M store in the city here. These samples are too good for too cheap. Tested them out on a bunch of material, and yah, they sunk into the mix beautifully and were great. For whatever reason, I did notice the same cymbal thing others were talkign about. I wouldnt mind a little something MORE from them. Just not sure what, harder hits?! . Definately usable though!

I would have loved to have seen this in a Superior 2 FULL add on, as I think it deserves the tweakability, and extra goodness that comes with the Full S2 expansion.

I will be purchasing

Bought this and EZD last night, loving the ludwig kit personally.
Might end up buying the metalheads pack at some point as it's only £21. Had a listen to the DFH clips but that didn't excite me to be honest.

Metalheads is nice if you don't already have Metal Foundry. Best if you have SD2 so you can used x-drums really, as blending kit pieces is fuckin tits!

Yeah I don't fancy shelling out for SD2 and Metal Foundry really. I'm more of a real drums guy myself to be honest so this is just for giving me more options in blending samples rather than for using for building drum sounds outright. Gonna be great for when I'm doing song demo's aswell mind you.

^^^^Don't waste your money on DFH.
It's absolutely atrocious and instantly recognizable (in a bad way). I kinda got it for free though when I bought EZD, so I can't really complain.
Metalheads would be much more worth the money though.
Patiently waiting to get this. Almost all these clips sound amazing :D.

As I said earlier, Ive asked for some harder hits (cymbal catches) on the next update. Its funny, the Ludwig kit was a bit of an after thought, kinda, "hey John, what can we do thats different?" . The kick was 26 x 14, I love it, works great as a rock type kick.

Loving Metal Machine, but sorry Andy you've created a "monster"... I'm pretty sure now EVERY Demo/ low budget/ "Noob" recording will have this amazing drums in it. It's kinda sad cause right out of the box they already sound killer (and "fit" in the mix) so no mayor thought process is required. And many of the "preset" kids will abuse this. I hope i'm wrong. Anyways wonderful job Andy as always!

To be honest I can see myself using the Ludwig alot in the future, has a nice Iron Maiden kinda sound to it.

what a load of elitist bollocks!

Hey Andy, now you only have to do your own 'one knob' libary for Waves, a couple of presets for Amplitube, and you'll get credits as a rec engineer for like 95% of the bedroom warrior musics in the next couple of years.

Awesome. I absolutely noticed that when I was demoing "catches" on previous mixes. Looking forward to the updates.......

On a side note. A large reason why I upgraded one of my computers (I have an I7 desktop as well as a Sandy Bridge I7 laptop now) was because S2 took up so much in terms of resources for the drum memory/processing.

I toss on these samples, and blammo, cuts down my ram usage by a GIG at least, and the CPU usage is MUCH lighter without the extra processing.

Win/Win!
