Toontrack Metal Machine (new EZX)

I gotta have this just for the MASSIVE toms!

this is probably going to be the best EZX..

I still think Superior and Metal foundry is at the top it's class!

I see Jason Suecoff recorded a demo for metal machine.. I am guessing he might have made an ez mix pack or hopefully a Richard Christy midi pack or ezx

Metal Foundry is an UNPROCESSED library, right? That means that the engineering don't have a shit to do with it, but it's actually you who completely suck at mixing drums. According to your description, your lack of skill is enough to make yourself really, REALLY pissed off. Interesting. Murder/suicide as a sollution? :Smokedev:

Hm, isn't it Mattias Eklund that's the third guy in the video?

I really don't know where to start - If you think that you can improve everything during the mixing process, even the recordings that were obviously recored and engineered REALLY bad (I'm talking about mic placement, mic selection, tuning, damping, etc), than you are one of the "we'll fix it in the mix" type of guy... and I don't need to tell you that's quite a wrong approach... The Metal Foundry is one of the worst drum recordings I have ever heard (especially the snare drums), so please don't judge someone's mixing potential based on (justified) inability to polish a turd.

^ like we don't already? :p

oh wait ... I use real drums :D

It'll be the new Slate, esp since its cheaper!

Just checked out the demo's, loving the snare/kick/toms...cymbals are very "cheap" brassy sounding...but the rest is killer! :Smokedev:

EDIT: Only on the Testament demo *regarding cymbals*

Metal Machine is awesome - easily the best sounding out-of-the-box metal drum sound I've ever heard, you owe it to yourselves to check it out.
I've been sneakily using it on some recent productions of mine, including this demo in which the ONLY thing I did to the kit sound was blend 30% of another snare sample in there. Zero processing, not even any levelling:

Looks like it will be Metal Machine snare, toms and kicks with Superior 2 and MF overheads and rooms. Superior rooms and overheads are the best imho.

I bought the download version because fuck you

Query: How big was the download? Would be happy to kill a few gigabytes off the monthly quota for this.

Sounds great....damn, ah well I guess everybody will have similar/quality drum sounds from now on :P

Keen as fuck!
And yeah Jaymz, no need to be sad, I also think EZX works in SD2 ;)

Remeber the concerns with the Sneap MF Presets though, keen to see if this has more effect on how drums will sounds than the Preset pack had

I guess it will concidering how awesome it sounds ;)
