What are you're 10 favourite albums ever. Not soundtracks or instrumental:

1: Pearl Jam : Ten
2: Smashing Pumpkins : Mellon Collie...
3: The Cure : Disintegration
4: Smashing Pumpkins : Adore
5: Anathema : Judgment

With so many great albums out there it is impossible to pick only five. At the moment these stand out though:

OVERKILL - Years Of Decay
NUCLEAR ASSAULT - Handle With Care
MANILLA ROAD - Crystal Logic
MORRIGAN - Plague Waste And Death
SKYCLAD - Wayward Sons Of Mother Earth

ANATHAMA - Eternity
IN THE WOODS - Omnio
HELLOWEEN - Keeper Of The Seven Keys pt. 1
PRIMORDIAL - Spirit The Earth Aflame
HOLLENTHON - Domus Mundi

It would be difficult to choose just five all time favorites, but here are the five i consider these days to be my most favorite albums. Of course there is no order, it was hard enough to choose them...

Ulver - "Themes From William Blake's Marriage Of Heaven And Hell"
Psychotic Waltz - "Bleeding"
Arcturus - "La Masquerade Infernale/Disguised Masters"
In The Woods - "3 Times 7 On A Pilgrimage"
Fates Warning - "A Pleasant Shade Of Grey"

and many many others.....

Katatonia - all (esp. Brave Murder Day)
Empyrium - Songs of moors & misty fields
Sigur Ros - Agaetis byrjun
Portishead - Dummy
Amorphis - Tales from a thousand lakes

phew, tough question ...
and i'm sure that the minute this post will be submitted, at least 10 more albums will enter my mind and shout abuse at me for neglecting them ;)

I think at this given moment in time it has to be

Down-Nola
Corrosion of Conformity-Deliverance
Iced Earth-Something Wicked
Katatonia-LFDGD
Queensryche-Mindcrime

Well, it's something like this:

1. Anathema - Judgement
2. Opeth - Still Life
3. Opeth - Blackwater Park
4. Jeff Buckley - Grace
5. My Dying Bride - 34,788%...Complete

...but some classical pieces would be as high as those above, it's just hard to compare them with rock in scope:

Dmitri Shostakovich - Symphony N 8
Olivier Messiaen - Quartet for the End of Time
