i could maybe see that- the mesas have good tones, but can tend to be more wallpaper-y sounding, without a huge mid-range presence like marshall & other amps. is that what you mean avi?
in that respect, if josh doesn't necessarily like the midrange of the 5150, maybe that sound is more what he's looking for?
i never played a 5150 where i could listen to it, just at fests.

yeah I am actually looking for a stupid metal scooped sound

although I got a great response from people on saturday about the sound and I was using the 5150 and one marshall 900 cab - although I thought it sounded like shit on stage.

the other cab I was using was a house cab and it didn't work at all...right before we started playing I tried switching the inputs on it and got a bad shock (oops).
