Hey guys!

I'm looking to gain some experience with mixing records so I'm offering free mixes to anyone who wants them. If anyone has any material that they've recorded that they would like mixed, I will do it for free.

I'm just looking to gain some experience and try and get myself out there. If anyone would like to try me out, you can contact me at jarrettammerman@gmail.com

Thanks dudes! :kickass:

Hey man

First and foremost, this is the wrong sub forum! The practice room sub forum is for people to post their mixes. This should technically be in the merch stand sub which is for offering mixing and mastering services etc.

Secondly, people frown upon others working for free around here. It devalues our work and doesn't help us in the losing battle right now that is the music industry. Some of us make a living off of this and try our best to deliver an honest product, so you will gain a sort of hostility from a lot of guys here.

There are a lot of resources online for mixing files. Here are a few

Go through this sub forum (practice room) and look for titles that say "With Raws" or "With Mixing Stems" (although mixing stems is not the correct terminology). There are at least 1 per page to be honest.

I have a few songs I wrote with stems as well

The only way to get yourself out there is to do paid work. I promise you. Until then, practice with the raw files you find online to build a portfolio. Have fun!

Thanks for your respone! I am sorry for posting in the wrong forum and I apologize if I offended anyone. On to more practicing!

No worries man, we all start from somewhere. If you really must do free work, do it with a local band that you think is talented. If you mix for free online, I promise you that you will get no recognition from it.

Well, yeah, whatever they said^. "Whoring" yourself out on the interwebz won't do you any good. If working for free for bands whom you don't you will be known as "that guy who works for free" rather than if you work with a local band/some friends, you will be "that guy we know who did a great job at recording us", see what I mean?
