trashy drum samples

Hey guys, just in the middle of mixing a song and was wondering if anyone had some real trashy snare and kick samples, there is a part in one of the songs I am doing, in which the band wants a real low fi, trashy snare and kick, had a go with compressing and eq, still not what I was after. Any ideas etc?

try adding shitloads of saturation, distortion? you can't get really lofi or dirty by just compressing and EQing.

Try some bitcrushing, distortion, lo-fi effects etc. There's many ways to do what I think you're asking for.

I mean that production is as much an artistic choice as the music itself, and a good mix is subjective based on the style of the music and the atmosphere you want to evoke e.g. guitars drenched in reverb might sound terrible in a tech death mix, but in a black metal mix it's right at home. Since there's no objective way to mix music to sound good, being able to make something sound trashy and ugly is as useful a skill as cleaning it up.
