I'm not sure where the architecture inspiration came from but that style immediately suggests 'haunted' to me.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I've never been able to look at something in that style (high mansard roof, towers, etc) without thinking HAUNTED either.

there are a few prominent Baltimore buildings with towers in that style, so maybe the inspiration came from there?
