Wow, that's surprising. A couple of years ago they did a top 500 on Triple M and "Alive" came in at number one.

I guess since they've changed their sound to be pretty much an 80s station to go with their modern and classic rock they've had to change their top whatevers accordingly... although there aren't many 80s songs in the 60 below "Alive". Go figure.

Moral of this story: never pay attention to Spiffo.

I actually like Triple M's format now. After they get knocked off being the No.1 station in the early 90s they've really struggled to find one that works; I think the whole idea of the Countdown was to give them an idea of what their listenship wants to hear. Overall, it was a pretty good list, although I was a bit disappointed that "Rooster" didn't get a look in. What are people thinking, not to vote for that?

anyone who likes Violet Femmes and especially that track Blister IN The Sun is a hippie and should be nailed to the wall and have french excocet missiles fired up their assess.
Fucking they should have put Maiden at the top of the chart , most of the other stuff is all contract fodder for bands that had a hit and then woo hoo end up in a cover band because the original band split up and they need to pay the record company back cocaine money :)
I'm off , before I really let loose on the subject of commercial radio, fucking whores.

Considering how often it's been played, I can't imagine why so many people wanted to hear more of it. Might as well have got them to play "Lust for Life", or "Won't Get Fooled Again", which sounds like that other song of theirs.

It'd be interesting to see where Jet places in a 2010 countdown... there's always a few songs that are currently popular in countdowns which tend to slide as their popularity wanes. I can't see Jet being named as an all-time great band in years to come. Same goes for Pete Murray... I can't believe he's even close to Song 2, which literally everyone knows.

I also think that Bring Me To Life and Going Under should be switched.

And how the fuck did Rock Lobster make it into the top 100?

Looks like it's a fairly even mix between respectable classic songs, and utter shite that should never have made it to radio in the first place.

Luckilly I got my car CD player fixed a few months ago so I don't have to put up with the shit music on the radio anymore. :D

Carcass were left-leaning vegans (at least the original line-up was). I'm not sure that makes them "hippies", but it's close. :)

They were hippies. They clearly wore hemp. Members joined Spiritual Beggers. They were hippies.
