I wouldn't trust it to keep up with aggressive playing or to properly stretch the strings. Waste of time/money.
Dude, have you seen Gibson ripping this junk off? They call it their new "POWERTUNE" system. Wtf is that. It looks exactly like the Tronical system and may be liscensed, but who knows.
The long-haired creep on the video said "even Gibson - GIBSON - GIIIBSOOON, THE BIG GUYS DROOL DROOL - are on board", so Gibson just probably uses Tronical's product in their guitars. Don't think it's a ripoff.
I figured they worked with Tronical on it, but from the press release, they were kind of acting like they invented the whole thing by themselves. I did just find a press release that mentions more about Tronical though. On the Gibson email I got, I don't think Tronical was mentioned even once.
Well is it meant to adjust on the fly, as your playing? I thought the implication there was that you have to pull the pot out and let it do its thing...which means that your paying $500 to avoid the "hassle" of unplugging yourself from an amp and plugging into a tuner...oh yeah, and turning the tuners yourself, god forbid
it seems like this device would inspire players to just assume the guitar is in tune and ready.
When I tune, I give the strings a lot of bends and really make sure all the excess tension has dissipated. I suppose you could do that between "power" tunings, however, it seems like this device would inspire players to just assume the guitar is in tune and ready.
