I use a TS9 with a 6505 and my pal is selling his original TS9 with the 'mojo' chip.

Would you be able to tell the difference between his TS9 and mine in a mix?

From all that I've read (and from Andy's TS comparison awhile ago) I would almost certainly say nope!

oh and which are those brown mods and the cap mods??? are they DIYable? i modded the TI brown texas op amp chip and it was a world of difference, for the better. but i have a spare ts9 and was flirting with some ideas as to how to expand my options. i also have a stock od 808 but i like the ts9 better for some reason.

I recently got an 808 re-issue modified by Rob Keeley with a 1982 JRC chip in it...

I find it smoother on the top, and the bottom end is a little different (I like mine better than the TS9), kinda bigger. But maybe that is just me!

The simple answer is probably not too much of a difference. However remember things add up in a mix.

I think Ill stick with my own TS9. I hear the difference in the clips but not enough to make me wanna go and rip his arm off for it :zombie:
