you're right, but i read the san francisco chronicle so at least it's liberal propagandaErik said:full of propaganda & lies
They really are. My favorite ads are Bacardi ones from magazines, because they show people who are actually drunk, rather than showing perfectly sober people "enjoying" Coors Light while skiing down a mountain without dying. Bacardi always has some sweaty lookin' dude with 2 chicks that are half-naked because they are in an about-to-be-raped-but-don't-care situation. Also Absolut ads are pretty clever sometimes.dorian gray said:Commercials are their own artform.

That stuffs in the United 93 threadMFJ said:i keep scrolling from top to bottom in this thread just to see if there are pictures of hot chicks, but there never are any pictures. still haven't read a single post.

spaffe said:Yup, that is disgusting. I feel that the greatest sin of the commercial culture is that it contributes in a big way of making everything ordinary. A thing quickly looses its charm and shimmer if it's constantly on display and is turned into something completly mundane -- this I think is especially true regarding sex. Thus there is a constant search of new excitement and genuine experiences which can never end nor be satisfied for long in our current cilture. Moreover this search often turns towards the realm of the depraved and downright stupid. Thus the line separating the normal and the extreme is constantly pushed further in the direction of the latter, making today's extremes tomorrow's accepted and normal behaviour.
Anyhow, I think it will be very interesting to see where it will all end since it can't go on forever.
