NEW YORK—In a stunning reversal of their long-stated reluctance to take it, members of heavy-metal band Twisted Sister announced Monday that, after 24 years of fervent refusal, they are now willing to take it. "I acknowledge that we promised not to take it anymore, but things change. The world is a different place today, and with that in mind, we would like to go on record as saying that, starting right now, we are going to take it," read a statement released by the band's lead singer, Dee Snider. "To clarify, we would still prefer not to take it, but as of now, taking it is an option that we would be open to. That is all." Bassist Mark "the Animal" Mendoza also stated that, in regards to what he wants to do with his life, he no longer solely wants to rock, but would instead prefer doing other things, such as raising a family and working as a claims adjuster in Rye, NY.

Ha ha, that's pretty funny. If that's an official Twisted Sister press release, it's brilliant. At an "election" time of year for us in the States, this is a prime example of free publicity without really saying anything specific. Obama and McCain speech writers, take that!

Do You Wanna Rock With TWISTED SISTER? - Oct. 15, 2008

Do YOU want to sing with TWISTED SISTER? This is your once-in-a-lifetime chance...

On Saturday, November 8, Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, Mark "The Animal" Mendoza and A.J. Pero will make a very special appearance at the Sam Ash store in Huntington, New York. There will be a question-and-answer session, a performance and meet-and-greet.

TWISTED SISTER is searching for the biggest "SMF" (a.k.a. "Sick Mother Fucker") to sing "I Wanna Rock" during the band's performance. All you have to do is give the guys in the group your best rendition of a TWISTED SISTER song, and tell them why YOU deserve to rock. Upload your video entry to YouTube, and then send the band the YouTube video link along with your name, e-mail and telephone number. You can complete the whole process by clicking here to fill out the entry form.

TWISTED SISTER recently announced the "Twisted Sister, A Twisted Christmas On Broadway" holiday extravaganza, Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York City.

The show will feature the band performing songs from their now-classic rockin' holiday CD and DVD, "A Twisted Christmas", featuring TWISTED versions of beloved Christmas classics including "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "Deck The Halls", "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" inspired by their biggest hit, "We're Not Gonna Take It". The CD enamored both critics and fans alike.

Are you sure about that? Dee in several interviews says that there will be no more new music because "the fans" just want to hear the old stuff. He uses KISS and "Psycho Circus" as proof....

Yeah, that’s right Sixx, that was my understanding too. Dee’s a smart fellow and he’s on the ball with his observations but maybe there’s been a shift in feeling amongst them and they’re thinking they do infact still wanna rock, TS style.

I was saddened when they called it quits after Love is for Suckers, I enjoy quite a few songs on that album and thought they still had some good songs left in their collective tank. If they keep it heavy, old school style, I think they’re capable of deliver something worthy. I’d like to know the source of this latest “news”.

I also enjoy Love Is For Suckers. I thought that album was pretty good.

...and "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" inspired by their biggest hit, "We're Not Gonna Take It".

Actually, Jay Jay French told an interviewer that Dee Snider admitted that he stole the melody for "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" to use as the melody for "We're Not Gonna Take It." Kind of like Neil Diamond ripping off Mozart for one of his major hits, "Song Sung Blue." :Smug:

i just saw in 2009 atlantic records will rerelease stay hungry in a remastered 25th anniversary version with a 2nd disc of demo's and outtakes :OMG:

I loved this band in the early to mid 80's... I met Dee Snider one time at my job... he was surprised i recognized him and hightailed it out of there... guess he doesn't want to be recognized in public...

again? what will this be called, Starving?

huh:erk: are you talking about "still hungry"? that was a rerecorded version the band did around 2004 because atlantic records wouldn't remaster the original and wouldn't sell twisted sister the rights to the original masters. atlantic records has now deceided to remaster it and the band wanted them to include all the demo's and stuff. this is atlantic records idea to do this not TS. kinda like how capitol records keeps releasing more megadeth hits/boxsets/compilations
