two new darkest hour songs

Thanks for pointing this out!

I really dug their last two albums and how they sounded. Analyzing them, the sounds were all wrong, like the thin guitars, tiny snare, or overly loud thudy kick, but as a whole it worked for me.

Can't wait to pick this and the new Nightrage up.

Funny thing is even though Kris was like the "shredder/metal guy", I found the band seriously started going to shit once he became actively involved in the songwriting... Hidden Hands was awesome, but Undoing Ruin and Deliver Us were lame... The first 2 albums that they put out before Kris joined were by far their most badass and honest records IMO. Even the muddy shitty mixes suit those albums, pretty much the only situation where I've ever really liked that raw sound.

I agree with that, but I MISS TEH SHREDZ. Even if it wasn't the best shred, it was still shred and that's what counts.

Hidden hands makes my brain have multiple orgasms, the last 2 recrds sucked pretty hard though IMO.

This production sucks too IMO.
Drums sound great but the guitars sound fucking awful. Scooped and ice-picky in the top end. Lots rumbly low end but no proper thickness.
What the fuck happened to the vocals as well?
There was this weird shouty quality he had on the other stuff that was what really set him apart for me, but the vocals sound pretty bog standard on this.

im gonna have to check out so sedated, so secure cos i dont think im gonna get my old school DH fix on this.

diggin the two new songs - no god's by far the better of the two though...

deliver us was a little disapointing but still got some really good tracks imo - undoing ruin's one of my favourite albums but was lacking a bit production wise - still prefer both to hidden hands, but sounds like this records gonna have a bit of all of them so lookin forward to it!

uhm, i think the new songs sound boring both production and songwise :( the thing that disappointed me the most is that the vocals sound pretty generic now, there's no more of that emotional grip that was there since their beginning.

i actually liked the production on undoing ruin very much (maybe the kick could've been less loud on some parts though :D ), sounded very raw/dirty and energetic as hell. on deliver us i only like the first three songs, later it all gets too pop-ish and lifeless to me (the production there disappointed me a bit though, everything got more polished).
