Two "new" songs

Dude I'm listening to the first clip right now and the song sounds AWESOME. Very inspired and refreshing. Love it. Reminds me of some Opeth, as well as some Exhumation and Gardenian (late stuff) in a way.

Production is very good. I'd say the kick is a tad too clicky, and the guitars are a bit too much trebly/presence-y. What did you use for the guitars ?

Listened to the second song. Good stuff also but i preferred the first one. the production is better on the first one but i guess you know it already (sounds like you worked on the first one more and the second one is still kinda "rough" at now). Maybe it will sound weird to you but some clean vocals in the second song reminded me of some Vortex (in Dimmu Borgir) stuff as well as... i don't know... Soilwork (not sure about this) ?

Howdy, thanks for listening. I got yer myspace add!

Guitars are PODxt direct into a motu 8pre. Nothing fancy there! I agree about the kick drums, but that is sort of the compromise between myself and the other dude in the band, he is into super produced/dry sounding drums and I like alot of room tone and natural stuff. It kind of makes for an odd drum mix for our stuff, but maybe that makes it a little different? It seems drums in metal stuff these days don't have too much room sound in the mix...

As for the difference between the two songs, the first one ("Kindled By Sinners") is an older song remixed to try and add some balls to it. A lot of my mixes tend to be lacking in the low end department, as I have mix mud phobia. The second song ("Orbital") uses a different drumkit and POD patch, plus is mixed differently, so that would explain that!

Opeth are a big influence for us. Dimmu Borgir, not so much...at least not for me. I'm not really too familiar with the other bands you mentioned except for Soilwork and I don't really like them either, but I'll check em out!

Check Exhumation's "Dance Across The Past" + Gardenian's "2 feet stand" (and then "sindustries' and "soulburner"), awesome kinda Göteborg thrash/death stuff, with a great vibe to it, great solo-ing, some melody but not the poppy In Flames/Soilwork thing we hear nowadays.
