Two-Pre party suggestions...

That's kind of my point...the remaining pre-party spots are supposed to be for "up and coming bands" or relatively unkowns. I figure Vanden Plas is a solid Prog band, FK is a returning great, so we need some solid power metal.

Human Fortress is an EXCELLENT "medieval style" power metal band with PHENOMENAL vocals. Supreme Majesty is pretty typical powermetal, but great talent and extremely catchy!

Damcyn. These guys are out of San Diego and my daughter and I saw a show of their's at the Key Club in LA last month. They're young, but they've got prog elements in their stuff and a mix of the growly-sound for the vocals.

I think they have a myspace page. I actually have a demo disc of their's in case Shane is interested in hearing these guys.

I just did a quick google search for Human Fortress and came up with this site. I have no idea what this is or endorse it whatsoever. I don't even know if it's legitimate. They offer the track Divine Astronomy for 15 cents and the whole album for $1.45. Human Fortress mp3 file downloads

It's a crime like Instant Grits to if any power metal fan has not heard this band. If you only check out one song, check out Divine Astronomy you won't be sorry.

Human Fortress. Wow, that would be a great pick.

Supreme Majesty is great too.

Eternity X would also rock, if he could get them. Heck, Eternity X, VAnden Plas and Freak Kitchen would mean that for a lot of people, Shane would have outdone Glenn.

Well not as the "Showcase" it won't be. As a fan we all benefit from having our favorite bands return sooner in the Showcase. But as a band member I lose because, I have a harder time competing with established national acts.

I mean, Shane would be better off chosing bands more people know than taking a chance with unknowns. Some of the golden era of PP is lost by upgrading the Pre-Party. There is always a loss for something gained.

But that's alright I'll just have to rise above and work harder and bottom line, write better music. That's what it's all about anyway. I can't complain, it would be worthless. You either write good stuff or you don't.

Odin's Court, Overlorde, or Division

I love Division. Don't know about Overlorde. Didn't like Odin's Court's demo, although that could have been sound quality rather than the actual talent of the band. I'd be interested in seeing them live to see if they are better that way.
