Two shit shows in a row??

TD

HAS INTEGRITY
Anyone go to the Clearwater show?? I'm told only 150 showed up and the boys only played 10 songs...... I hate to hear news like this. It seems like this tour has been so hit or miss. Problem is, promoters key in on the misses, and that means less tour dates for the rest of us. Come on Florida, get off your asses!

I saw a review on another board that says the "Clearwater show fucking rocked!"... And besides, I'd rather see ANTHRAX in a small club with 150 of my closest friends...
Me thinks TD is just stirring up tha 'chit...
so...
I'M QUESTIONING YOU, TD!!!

Inquiring minds want to know...

The problem is there is no promotion for them and a lot of fans who liked them back when they were younger in the 80's and early 90's have moved on with everything and forgot about them. I've been a fan since 1990 and where I live in Buffalo, NY Anthrax used to be so huge. Everyone loved them at on time around here. They still get a solid showing but they'll never draw between 1,000-2,000 people a show anymore like they used to. My friend knows the program director for the local rock station here and he mentioned nothing about them even promoting the show they played here a few weeks ago. My friend didn't even know anything about Anthrax coming here til I mentioned it to him a week before the show.

Anthrax played a kick ass show here but it was a small venue they played in. The place was full maybe about 250 people there. If they could get some promotion it could be so much better attendance wise. Bands like Anthrax will always have a hardcore following but most fans end up straying from the bands they used to listen to. At the show I ran into a guy I knew from high school who was a big fan as well. It's good to see that at least some people stick with a band through it all.

Rock On!

Well, I'm going to tonight's show and I honestly didn't even find out about it til Saturday night. I haven't heard any kind of promotion for the show at all. I would have been mighty pissed had I missed this show.

I'm sure it will be packed. College radio promotes metal down here. University of Miami Radio station has a metal show, besides that you cant expect trendy commercail radio to promote the show , when they dont even play the music on the station.I'll try to write a coherent review , if possible.

My band 5 Billion Dead is opening for our "Superheros" Wednesday night, so we've been trying as hard as we can to promote the Orlando show! We've appeared on 2 different radio shows (1 talk show, 1 metal show), have begged our local Clear Channel DJ's to play our new stuff and help promote the Anthrax show, I've also passed out at least 600 fliers to concert goers over the past week (300 at Mudvayne, 300 at Static-X), the House of Blues has a very cool radio spot that has been promoting the show since the weekend, and just plain old fashioned word of mouth has been working quite well too!!!

Of course ANTHRAX will never be the same band that did the "Among the Living" tour, nor do they care to be. I will admit that I too am guilty of "letting go" of Anthrax, because I just plain did not dig John Bush's vocals. I wanted Billy Milano to be the new singer of Anthrax sooooo bad that it didn't matter WHO was going to be the new singer!!!
John's vocals took a lot of getting used to for me, because ANTHRAX, EXODUS & CELTIC FROST was my very first Metal show, and I always want to remember Anthrax as they were back then.
Now, I've grown acustomed to Bush's vocals, and appreciate the hardships and perseverance that Anthrax has gone through.
In the end, ANTHRAX has to win back the fans by presenting themselves as a "new" product. Sorry, but it's true... So many "old" fans and friends of mine are coming to this show, and the one thing that I've heard most of all is...
"Man... I used to LOVE Anthrax back in the day..."
Only 1 day left...

"GROWN ACCUSTOMED TO JOHN BUSH'S VOCALS" ?????

Dude, to each their own.........BUT WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. John Bush is a metal legend. His shit with Anthrax in addition to his unbelievable work in Armored Saint puts him in a category with very, very few contemporaries. Not quite in the strata of Halford, Dickenson or Tate........but fuckin-a close !!!!

Anthrax is so much more metal with Bush.

Maybe its time for the boys to support another big band to really get them heard. Shit I don't know. I'm an old fan and yes us older fans don't make every show but this band is good enough to draw more than 150 especially in a college aged area. 150 is a bummer because I know the Southeast has been begging for shows on KNAC.com. Who know's at least they bring it live. on the short lived Max Rock Tour they kicked Megadeth and Motley Crues ass all over the place. Yes that's right. Sometimes Mustaine really can't sing and and Vince Neil has had one too many cheeseburgers with his beer(and his voice is going too).

Concert attendence is going down for everyone in general. R.E.M. played here recently and a friend of mine that went told me that It was maybe 2/3 full. Five to 10 years ago, they would have sold the hell out of the venue they just played. Weren't there some Aerosmith/KISS shows that didn't sell out too???

I certainly think it's time for SANCTUARY to cough up the cash to put ANTHRAX on the next OZZFEST... You can't tell me that SANCTUARY doesn't have the money for this kind of thing...
Hell...
Why not put ANTHRAX and BIOHAZARD on tour together??? They're both on the same label...
I interviewed Billy and Danny from BIOHAZARD a couple of months ago, and they didn't have very many nice things to say about SANCTUARY... It appears that this label is more interested in making money from album sales from their "Heritage" acts, than they are making their acts successful... It would appear as though SANCTUARY is just CASHING IN on another legendary band's hard work...

Sanctuary's sales of IRON MAIDEN and SUPERJOINT RITUAL should be enough to cover it... dontcha think???

That's true that Areosmith/Kiss didn't sell out a lot of their shows over the summer but the ticket prices were outrageous. The amplitheater they played at near me the ticket price was $128.50 for one reserved seat. That fuckin insane and the lawn were like $50 a pop. If I wanna stand on the grass and listen to Aerosmith i'll turn up my stereo and stand on my front lawn and listen to it. I've always liked Aerosmith and think they put on a good show but i'd never pay that much for one ticket to any rock show. As far as R.E.M. goes they've really fallen off the mainstream rock map as well and aren't as dominate there as they were 10-15 years ago.

Anthrax is a bit of a different story though. My ticket was $16 adding the bull shit ticketmaster surcharge it was $20. Still very affordable and you're not selling your car just to be able to go to a show. With the low prices Anthrax shows could be very well attended if there was just some advertisment for it. I don't want Anthrax to sell out arenas or anything becasue I think the feel for their show would lose something in a larger venue but it's not asking too much for the local radio stations and the concert promoters to buy some air time and at least get the word out that they're coming. If I didn't frequent Anthrax's official site i never would've known they were playing my town this tour. It's kind of sad to see the lack of promotion some bands get and the over promotion others recieve.

Rock On!

I went to the Clearwater show and, it rocked!!!! Yea they didnt do an encore but i havent seen them since '99, so i didnt care. They sounded great i thought. Rob is a shredding guitarist!!!!! He Rules. He's perfect for the band!

They played(from what i recall) :

Caught in a Mosh
Got the Time
Fueled
Safe Home
Indians
What Doesnt Die
Belly of the Beast(Ruled, i was suprised they played it)
Refuse to be Denied
Antisocial
Only
Bring the Noize

They rule!!!!! They band performed excellent. I got to fucking meet them after!!!!! I couldnt believe it. My friend's buddy bought a cd and they gave him an after show pass, so he gave it to my friend, and my friend gave it to me, which was really fucking cool of him. So it was my turn to go in the dressing room, and i couldnt believe i was in the same room with them. I had them all sign my shorts,Charlie was first one i asked and he was like " Sign your shorts??" It was pretty funny. Frankie gave me the NY Italian " How ya doin ". It was great.
They made fun of Rob saying, he likes to sign guys asses. It was funny. They were all very cool, they seemed tired or bummed out. I got to talk to John for a few minutes about the tour and where they were going next. How fucking cool to get to meet one of my favorite bands, and the guy who taught me how to play guitar( Scott). I was pumped. I wish i couldve gotten a picture with them. Oh well at least i have the shorts.

And there was only 150 to 200 people there because the club was very small. It was packed. The show didnt get much promotion if any. i didnt hear about or see any flyers for it, which sucks.
