Tyr (maybe they are the band only 5% know?)

I don't use it as a genre, but as a descriptor. I actually don't say viking metal.....but to me viking metal means a band that has music that is often heavy, uses folky melodies, and has lyrics relating to mythology, specifically viking, like Amon Amarth.

I don't believe in Viking Metal. That's an even more fake genre than Math Metal.

Well if Math Metal sang about math equations, algebra, calculus etc. then it'd be a good analogy. Viking metal bands have lyrics pertaining to viking history and their mythologies. Also most of the time the music very influenced by traditional norwegian music. To say it's fake genre is silly. People could say power metal is a fake genre then, because bands like Maiden and Helloween were never called power metal back in the day. I just think having different genres is a good way to have a good idea of whether you'll enjoy a band's music before you hear them and don't see the harm in having a genre like viking metal.

I'd love to see Tyr, but I seriously doubt they'd be playing Progpower this year. Didn't Glenn say the band that less than 5% of us know about hadn't released their debut album yet?

"Hail to the Hammer!"

Yes, that is what he said.

Thank you. Clearly Mephistopheles doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.
