This is a tournament of all bands that have a forum on UM or have previously had a forum on UM. As the Tournament Progresses, more details of the format will be revealed.
Please discuss the music and compare it to the other bands in the match. Inappropriate posts will result in your vote being disqualified. Also, please do not post a message just to tell others who you voted for. The votes can be viewed by any UM member.
Please refrain from plugging your favored bands in a match on another forum. This tournament is meant to discuss music, not have fanboys flock to a poll and spam others' discussion withoff-topic posts.

anthrax have had the most prominent impact on metal among the bands listed, imo. i was tempted to opt for eternal tears of sorrow or dissection regardless, because at the moment i think there are more songs from these bands that i listen to on a regular basis. however, i think etos only have one very good record out, and dissection have been gone for too long now for me to compare them with the current environment.

Would anybody be surprised to know that I picked ANTHRAX!!!!

Sound of White Noise, Stomp 442, and Volume 8 are only the three best albums released in the 90's and We've Come For You All should continue that trend in 2003!

Dissection SHOULD be the choice for me, but by golly, those boys in Metalium sure do make me laugh. So, knowing they have no chance, but at least need a vote or two, I go with Metalium.

please tell me you know you haven't voted for iron maiden - as in, the band who started back in 1979 and is still featuring bruce dickinson as a vocalist - but for the iron maidens - check their forum here - because otherwise i might fall from the chair and bruise my head very badly.

If anyone did vote for The Iron Maidens thinking they were Iron Maiden, I can put your vote down as something different in the list I use. I don't think they'll last very long anyway. That's another advantage of public polls.
