Unfinished song, looking for some input.

Hey, so I'm looking for some input on this song I'm working on. I'm probably going to re-work it for vocals but right now it's just instrumental. What do you guys think of the mix?

the kick drum gets buried a bit, some of those high guitar parts are kinda distracting; i'd maybe bring them down a hair and/or cut the high end just a bit

I disagree, it comes through well for me. It just doesn't have the "clicky clicky" sound to it. Maybe you could toss in a high level peak to get a little more click.

What was your plugin setup for dfh?

Yeah, I tried experimenting with adding some high's to the kick and it sounds a bit better. For plugins I'm using waves bundle pack and just Nuendo EQ.

Sounds good, but it's really hard to look at it objectively since it is such a meshuggah imposter.

IMO the biggest offender is low end kick, if you have a C4/something similar then add more low end compression

The drums sounds okay, but I would try to tame some of the lows in the kick like Genius said. The snare's not exactly to my taste either.
The guitars sound a bit distant, but I guess they're what you went for.

Well I personally think it sounds fine. It's just not what is normally heard around here.

I wouldn't change shit, it's unique as fuck (as far as the mix goes).
