Hello everyone!
There is finally a lot of news to report!
PROGRESS OF THE NEW ALBUM
First up, Katagory V has been in the studio since early October recording the new album, tentatively titled, The Rising Anger. According to the band, they have finished up all the drums and bass guitar tracks and are currently recording the guitars.
Here are some comments from bassist, Dustin Mitchell, So far we are getting close to the half-way point in recording the album, and things are moving very smoothly and its sounding HUGE! We brought in Mike Fowkes to help produce and engineer this album. Some of you might think the name sounds familiar, and the reason why, is because he helped engineer a few things on our first album. This time around, he is involved a 100% and is also taking on the responsibility as co-producer this time, and the results are astounding. His experience and expertise in the studio are bringing out some brilliant results. He also adds, Weve been taking a lot of time with this one, and the direction and sound this album is moving in should appease many of the hungry Katagory V fans out their as well as many fans of U.S. Metal. Its shaping up to be a very solid sounding album so far with a stronger emphasis on the songs and hooks. Without going into too much detail, I think the end result will be a big surprise for many, one for the better of course!
Secondly, Dustin made comments to a possible making-of documentary of the album, We are documenting the whole recording process, and have a video camera running most of the time in the studio. Right now, we have no idea if it will be released as a bonus CD-Rom or DVD with the new album, or down the road by itself or if it will ever be released at all but we figured wed do it, and thought it would be a nice treat for all the Katagory V fans to get up close and personal, and see what goes on while were recording and get a glimpse into our lives during the process.
PREVIEW OF THE NEW ALBUM COVER!
One of the things the band has been waiting on recently is the artwork for the new album, which they now have! A preview of the cover art to the new album has been posted here in the bands forum, along with a promo picture of the current line up. Be sure to drop by and check out the new album cover and the latest faces of Katagory V!
With the new album cover in hand, webmaster Jens Pohl (www.Rockpromotions.net, www.running-wild.net) is currently redesigning the Katagory V website, which will be themed to the new album art, and is expecting to have it ready to launch in December. The site will be much more streamlined and user-friendly site with some added features for the fans. In the meantime, you can still get to the bands forum via a link on the main page of www.katagory5.com while the website is under re-construction.
