Work in progress

If this is the US Lethal with the fantasic vocalist Tom Malicoat that released the superb progressive metal classic album "Programmed" back in 1990 then I am very excited!! :headbang:

If it is the Scandinavian black metal band Lethal that released the album "Wisdom of Darkness" in 1992 I am not interested.

Maybe is the Argentinian Letal?:heh:

NP: Dream Theater - 'Octavarium'

Indeed! Both the "Programmed" album and the "Your Favorite God" EP are real classics in my book.

If this is true this is the best news of the year! Hell, what am I saying, short from an Anacrusis reunion, this might be the best news of the decade!

As the storms of time subside
The coals from past life will fuel this fire
Dreams carry us on to believe
And die for the things we had hoped for
The arrival sets us free

Dude!!! Then you SHOULD check them out together with the US metal band Mystic Force! Their album "Man vs Machine" is amazing!

This was on Blabbermouth:
LETHAL, the legendary power/progressive metal band that released the classic "Programmed" album, as well as the critically acclaimed "Your Favorite God" EP and "Poison Seed" releases, have broken 10 years of silence and reformed. LETHAL have reunited with the "Your Favorite God/Poison Seed" lineup of Tom Mallicoat (vocals), Dave McElfresh (guitars), Eric Cook (guitars), Jerry Hartmann (drums), and Glen Cook (bass).

LETHAL is currently rehearsing for upcoming live dates, as well as writing material for their new album, to be released in early 2007 (with a full tour to follow).

The Kentucky-based LETHAL was founded by Tom Mallicoat and the Cook brothers, Eric and Glen. In 1990, after the arrival of drummer Jerry Hartmann, Metal Blade Records released their debut album, "Programmed", which was instantly proclaimed a progressive/power metal classic the world over.

In 1994, LETHAL independently released "Your Favorite God", a five-song EP (featuring new guitarist David McElfresh) which immediately sold out. "Your Favorite God" showed LETHAL going in a heavier direction, with such outstanding songs as "Waiting on the Kill" and "Hard to Breathe".

LETHAL's last release, the album "Poison Seed" (1995), set new standards for progressive metal bands with its sheer musical brilliance, which featured "Down", "Walking Wounded", and the title track.

Hawk: That Mystic Force cd doesn't seem to be on any of my favorite online cd stores, but I'll keep my eyes open. Will check out Lethal too, looks like Programmed is readily available.:kickass:

I hope they will continue the style of the "Programmed" album and forget the style of the "Poison Seed" record.

This is by far the best news of the year!

I am very excited about this. Vocalist Tom Mallicoat has been a favorite of mine since their "Programmed" album.

I am very much looking forward to seeing these guys tour and release a new album. That would be the best! :headbang:

You will drool over Lethal's "Programmed" if you liked 80s Queensryche. HIGHLY recommended! :headbang:

On the reunion....we shall see. It's always a touchy thing when classic bands like this have been away and come back to the scene. I'll cross my fingers (I'm referring to the material they come up with during the songwriting process).

Never heard of them. But I have read comparisons to QR in here which is not good in my book, are they trule similar to Queensryche?

They are more powerful. Its specifically the voice is the singer that reminds me of Geoff Tate's voice. However if you don't like Queensryche because of Geoff Tate's voice you will probably not like Lethal.

Right on, well I check them anyway when the album filters. Thanks for the info Hawk ;)

Yeah, I'd say Lethal are early Queensrÿche (The Warning era) with US power metal influences thrown in.
