Usb -> Firewire adapter? Will it work?

I'm going to get myself a new laptop and sure there are computers with Firewire and/or expresscard but you have not much to choose between =( And my Fireface 800 must just work...... Would a converter like this even be worth giving a try? I doubt it will work good but maybe someone else here tried ?

I can't see this working, considering USB works by sending packets of data while Firewire sends a stream. =/
