Using plugin effects as outboard effects......

in an analog recording situation? is it possible without using a daw? or do plugins have to use a daws engine?

Peavey also has a hardware vst unit i believe as well.

Both the Musebox and the SM Audio are cool. but you can only load one effect at a time. I was kinda wanting to basically have a virtual rack of effects as an outboard effects rack so instead of something like this
