pro-league plugins?

UAD plugins rock!

The card sets you back, but the plugs are very reasonably priced.
And they come with new offers every month.
In december I got the LA-3A comp for 25USD!

Since the new UAD-2 came out the UAD-1 cards are very affordable if you dont mind
the fact that they are somewhat underpowered and probably wont be supported by
future plugins.

API waves suite, its not bad, i like alot the 550a give a very great color to the tracks. But stillwell plugs are the best 4 now, great sound and affordable prices.
Event horizon, no other limiter! +1dbrms only whit softclipping!! ;)
But im dreaming for a UAD2

I would say Voxengo Elephant kicks absolutely unspeakable amounts of ass :) I used to use L2 back in my pirate days, and Elephant shits all over it, and is affordable enough that even a chump like me can have the satisfaction of knowing he bought it legally! ($80, to be exact, and it's on Mac too!)

+1,000,000

It's a crazy good plugin.

I have the Waves Diamond Bundle, Most of the Sonnox Plugins for Powercore & Native, of course the PoCo Fiwi Plugins from TC, almost all UAD Plugs (3 UAD1Cards in a Magma + 1 UAD2), a lot of the Voxengo stuff incl Elephant, PSP Vintage Warmer, Master Comp and the great Xenon Limiter... and so on...

I have to say:

The more plugins you have, the more difficult is it to choose the right one in the right situation.

And you have to take care to not throw superduper vintage compressors on every track when maybe NO compressor would be the best choice.

I would say that the real pro's are quite good in deciding what a track needs and maybe when a track needs NOTHING.

So far it's been Waves and Massey Plugins for me. Haven't seen any mention of Massey so here's the website: http://www.masseyplugins.com/

Best plugin Massey has is the Limiter2007, 2nd is the Tape Saturation plugin.

Cool thing is the demo's are FREE, you just can't save your settings or use them in a Stereo bus (cept for the limiter) but if you buy them they are really inexpensive ($70-$90)

Yep, now that Nordstrom is ITB - personally, I think In Sorte sounds awesome, though I've heard people whining about its production (though usually referring to the mastering)
