Vader vs. Kataklysm

I listened to Kataklysm's Epic (Poetry of War) tonight, and all I can say is one thing: Vader.

I've never been a huge fan of VADER, and I don't pull KATAKLYSM off the shelf as much as I used to... Speaking of which, I need to get that Shadows and Dust off in the mail to you!

I think that's very true, at least judging from the general discussion and the latest purchase thread. The only death metal band I really like is Amon Amarth and Behemoth which have a certain epicnes (hm, its that an actual word?) and lyrics which appeal to me. I haven't delved very deep into the genre but I don't feel like doing it either; death metal has generally way to little feeling for me.

I like death metal, and have lots of death metal cds. Asphyx, Aeternus, Rudra, Carcass, The Chasm, Hypocrisy, etc.

I like death metal the best of all extreme genres. Never heard Katakasylksm. Vader kicks a lot of ass.

Death metal is by far my favorite genre but this poll doesn't offer much for interesting bands.

Kataklysm helped open some doors, but I can't remember the last time I listened to them. Vader has seemed rather bleh from the little I've listened to.

Actually, Vader are better now than ever before. Revelations is a great album, but yeah sure, we're not talking Melechesh standards or anything.

I prefer Vader, but it is purely a matter of taste. Kataklysm may even be the more talented band.
