Van Halen 'jump' disaster

perfect pitch is irrelevant when listening to this, anyone with even the slightest sense of relative pitch is in for a cringe-fest....it's flat out HORRIBLE. This is physically painful to listen to, I'm turning it off.

Just a case of modern technology gone bad. I think I would have stopped and at least made a joke of it and got straightened out. I dont know hard to say, its a bad situation to be in. One of our bands had a fucked up sound situation from the first notes we played this one gig, and we kept going and it was really hard. After the fact it was just as hard getting our cool back because it shook us that much.

Dude, it's because the keyboard tracks were played out of time and out of tune... Eddie didn't do anything wrong, some tech did. And poor DLR had to choose between singing in key with the keys or the guitar and bass. I'm sure that guy got fired, and probably got his ass kicked.

yea, its hard to function at any capacity when things are so screwed up. 1 1/2 steps off is a bit hard to follow. Wonder when they figured out what was going on, must have been complete mental chaos for awhile. Not that much difference in speed but a huge difference in pitch... about 1 1/2 frets worth.

New invention... a 48 fret guitar

They should have just turned the guitars down...you don't even need them for that song...especially in a large venue. Just skip the solo, or make some vibrato noise.

That guitar solo is classic, and I don't think it could be skipped or glossed over. Really, they should have stopped and either tried to fix it or have been properly rehearsed to do something else.

On a side note, with DLR back, why the hell aren't they doing Me Wise Magic or Can't Get This Stuff No More?

Surely you're joking about Me Wise Magic
