This was my first time hearing this band and I'm pretty much blown away, where should I start? The new one?

My personal favorites are The God Thing and Beyond Daylight--both which rank 11 out of 10 (yes, I said 11 out of 10!). Christ 0 is a 10/10. I can't decide whether the new CD, The Seraphic Clockwork, is a 10/10 or an 11/10. You can't go wrong with the other CDs, but these 4 are, IMHO, phenomenal.

Really? For me the weakest part about the whole thing was the drums. The dark vibes/riffs and sick vocal arrangement saved it for sure. Drums sounded way too fake I think. Kicks sound like a typewriter haha.

Christ 0 is definitely my favorite VP album. They're pretty much all good though.

Christ 0 (2006) and The Seraphic Clockwork (2010) are my favs, but you really can't go wrong with any of their releases.

Man, you definitely have to check out Christ 0 and Beyond Daylight. The new album is equally impressive. Definitely start with these 3 and I guarantee you will be amazed.

You're not gonna get a definitive answer on where to start with them, they're just consistently awesome. Might as well start from the beginning with Colour Temple.

I was intro'd to VP when Christ 0 came out and then worked my way backwards thru their catalog..
All of their CDs are phenominal, but for me, God Thing, Christ 0 and Seraphic Clockwork are my faves... but I spin them all!!!!! I sooooo cannot wait to finally see them LIVE!!!!!:Smokin:

Andreas has indeed turned into a monster over the last couple of releases. He looks a bit stoic in the video though.... ha ha ha, but indeed, the VP machine is hitting on all eight cylinders right now and no small part of it is Andreas' drum work and tone.

Right as far as consistantly awersome !! If you "get" their sound, you probably will dig all of it. They have certainly progressed a great deal in their career, but they have maintained the "Vanden Plas sound." They don't have a mediocre release. I recommend going in reverse chronological order though.
